What we keep, what we don't.

The SEO Registry is a free, public-good project. We collect the minimum information needed to run the challenge and grade your submissions. We do not sell your data, run third-party advertising, or share your information with vendors beyond the processors listed below.
What we collect
When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile image URL from Google. We store these in our database to identify your account and display your name on your scorecards.
When you submit an audit, we store the text you paste, the AI-generated scorecard, and aggregate token-usage metrics for cost accounting. The text of your audit is private to your account; we do not display or share it.
What we don't collect
We don't run third-party analytics or tracking pixels by default. We don't collect your IP address persistently — IPs are used only for short-window rate limiting and are not stored beyond that window. We don't read your Google account beyond the basic profile fields you consent to at sign-in.
How AI grading works
Your audit text is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for grading. The prompt instructs Claude not to retain the submission. Per Anthropic's API privacy policy, inputs are not used to train their models. We do not send your name or other PII alongside the submission text.
Cookies
We set one cookie: a session cookie issued by Auth.js after you sign in with Google. It's required for the site to remember you. We don't use cookies for tracking or advertising. There's no third-party cookie set on this site.
Processors
We use the following service providers to run the Registry:
- Google (sign-in)
- Anthropic (audit grading)
- AWS SES (transactional email via SMTP)
- Our hosting provider for the website and database
Your rights
You can delete your account at any time from your profile. Account deletion removes your user row, all submissions, all sessions, and any leaderboard listing. The deletion is immediate and permanent.
If you'd rather export your data first, email us at hello@seoregistry.org and we'll send you a JSON export of everything we hold within seven working days.
Public surfaces
By default your credential is private — your name does not appear in the public registry. If you opt in (from your profile), your name as supplied by Google, country (if you've added one), and tier become publicly visible on the registry page. Your verifiable badge URL is always live regardless, but is only discoverable through name lookup if you've opted in. You can opt out at any time from your profile.
Changes
We'll update this page if we change our practices. The date at the top reflects the most recent change.
